Silaplane (Reactive Silicone)

Structure and Function of Silaplane

Silaplane has two types, bi-terminal type and mono-terminal type, suitable for modifying kinds of organic polymers.

Silaplane of bi-terminal type is suitably employed for introducing silicone components into polymer main chains. Silaplane of mono-terminal type is suitably employed for grafting silicone components into polymer main chains in a comb form.

Thus obtained silicone modified polymers have both characteristics attributed to silicone compounds and organic polymers. Particularly, Silaplane of mono-terminal type is an ideal reactive silicone compounds capable of providing characteristics of silicone compounds on surfaces without adversely affecting mechanical properties of existing organic polymers.
